@GearFreedom – Powered by Interns!

GearFreedom began looking for interns about 3 weeks ago after we placed 2nd at the Holloway Competition.  The financial prize we received from the competition was perfect to support paying additional help for website development.  We had an amazing response of resumes from excited and well qualified candidates looking to join the team.

When looking to make a decision on the final candidates to select, I definitely leaned on some advice at ABI’s Party at Arms : Live Free or Start event, where keynote speaker Noah Everett, the CEO/Founder of Twitpic shared that he believes you should always choose people based on attitude over experience, and experience over education.  While I’m definitely an advocate for education, I agree with this statement full heartedly and it played a major role in making our selection.

I had a kickoff meeting with our two summer interns today and I couldn’t feel more inspired.  Both are college students excited to use their knowledge base to help launch a Manchester, NH based company.  I could feel the excitement and eagerness to dig in and I’m super excited to see what they’re capable of in the coming weeks / months!
